Yesterday, when I was in the library at lunch some stupid boys teased me about seizures. When this happened a boy I had never met came up to me and said, "Hey, are you afraid of the seizure word?"When he said this I wanted to punch him really hard. Of course I did not.He got me so angry I left the library. when I was out in the hall I heard people saying "Seizure seizure. " I was very sad. It made me cry really hard. I hate it when people do things like that. Do you?
I hope you aren't feeling sad for yourself. I do however feel very sad for the cruel behaviour of these kinda homo sapiens. Luckily I'm a canine. It makes you wanna cry for their parents - if they have any at home.
ReplyDeleteThe world is a mess becuz a brunch of messed up people populate it. And, no political polices can fix that.
What may bee even stupider, and hard to comprehend, is many girls marry these guys!
Bean, there is an old saying" never let them see you sweat", in other words, if you react to their taunts, they will do it even more. I know it is hard, but stare them in the eye and then walk away.
ReplyDeleteWhat a strange question for this boy to ask--a boy who doesn't know you. Afraid of a word? Maybe he is, but not you.
ReplyDeleteBean, I guess it doesn't help you right now, but these kids are expressing their ignorance. Some of them (not all) will grow out of it. The lucky ones will have regrets. The really fortunate ones will find a way to express their regret someday.
In the mean time, you get to move forward without them.
Notice how the boys don't pull this crap when they're by themselves? they need audience (their jerk friends)
ReplyDeleteThat's why you should follow Janice's advise "stare them in the eye and then walk away".....not a word! Your tormenters won't give up immediately, but eventually they'll get bored and move on to a different target. As an official member of the "odd girls out club" I speak from experience.
(it also doesn't hurt to park your books within ear/eye shot of the librarian)
Did you know Angelina Jolie was teased all through middle school and high school because she looked "different."
ReplyDeleteThink how stupid those grown up kids feel now.
Did you know Michael Phelps (super famous olympic swimmer)was teased and bullied in middle school for his huge feet and ears and weird body size (for being funny looking). The big feet and body size were part of what helped him to be a great swimmer a few years later. I read that now the very people who used to make fun of him send him friend requests on Facebook and he just laughs about it!
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to imagine when you are a famous author someday and you get the last laugh when those people want to be your friend. I think you should spend time each day dreaming about your life as a happy, sucessful author/teacher who shows everyone the meaning of lovable, cool, creative... and don't spend another minute thinking about these boys. Michael Phelps put all his focus on his dreams and never looked back.
It turns out I am afraid of epilepsy. I wish I was not.
ReplyDeleteTrust me Bean, everyone is afraid of something. It's the price we pay for being alive. Our challenge is to not let fear win, and that's something we all work on, every day.
ReplyDeleteBean, I have 4 songs for you to put on your ipod and in your head.
ReplyDelete..1. When ever I feel afraid from The King and I. 2. Don't worry, be happy. 3. You've got to accent the positive. Old Bing Crosby song 4. Bye Bye Birdie song, Mary sang it at her graduation, Put on a happy face. Sometimes if you put happy things in your mind, the worries go away. It works for me.
like I said. these boys are just stu[id. Don't let them know how upset it makes you because they will keep doing it if they can get a reaction put of you.
