I helped a sad ninth grader

Budah IIIImage by giuliana_miranda via Flickr

At the end of sixth period on wednesday, a ninth grade girl came up to me in the library. After we had talked for a while she told me she had dyslexia and was a kinesthetic learner. Soon after that she told me that lately she had been feeling kind of violent, and wanted to punch things, but not me. I was also told that this girl felt very sad and embarrassed about this. So I told her, god loves you, Jesus loves you, your family loves you, your friends love you, you're loved by many living things. They love you for who you are, so just accept yourself for who you are. My mom told me this buddhist prayer, May I love and accept myself just as I am. Then I told my friend, and if you ever feel sad, just come to me, I'm happy to help my wonderful friends. I also said, I didn't used to be afraid of epilepsy so I won't always be, this means you didn't always feel violent and you won't always feel that way. I did this because I'm happy to help my wonderful friends.

Many Many oras

Hakuna Matata (song)Image via Wikipedia

Lately, I've been having a lot of auras. This is something having to do with my epilepsy. I'm very scared of auras, but trying to get over that fear. My mother, Margaret Finnegan, says when I have an aura I should stop and say to my self your obsessing think of some thing nice. While thinking of that thing I would sing Hakuna Matata in my head. If you are ever afraid of some thing so bad that you cry when it happens, think of something nice and sing a song you like whenever it happens.

Inspirational movie

Percy Jackson & The OlympiansImage via Wikipedia

On saturday night my family saw a very good movie at the theaters, it was called The Lightning Thief. The main character in this movie had ADD and dyslexia. Having these helped him do great things even though they are disabilities. The movie really showed that learning differences are not bad things. If you have a learning difference and feel bad about it you should see this movie, it really would help.

People must understand

Dyslexia Discovery Centre Garden Heart DropImage by ken mccown via Flickr

Today in homeroom, a boy and I had a conversation about how people need to understand that it is okay to be different. This boy has dyslexia, a condition that can make it hard for you to read. We talked about how people make fun of disabled people, how many teens our age cared only about themselves, and many other things like that.He really understood what it was like to be different.

Teased by stupid boys

Don't Bully my KidsImage by satosphere via Flickr

Yesterday, when I was in the library at lunch some stupid boys teased me about seizures. When this happened a boy I had never met came up to me and said, "Hey, are you afraid of the seizure word?"When he said this I wanted to punch him really hard. Of course I did not.He got me so angry I left the library. when I was out in the hall I heard people saying "Seizure seizure. " I was very sad. It made me cry really hard. I hate it when people do things like that. Do you?

Every One is Different

Everyone is different. It doesn't matter what others think of you, just what you believe you are. Never compare yourself with someone you see on the street. That will make you start to think of yourself in a bad way. Many of the mean people at my school only care what others think of them. This is what mostly makes them bad. In the future they will be told that doing bad things is cool. They will believe this and do the bad things. This is why you should not care what others think of you.
